Handbook Of New Testamnet Greek : An Inductive Approach Based On The Greek Texts Of Acts (Trawas)
"This unique primer in New Testament Greek, produced in cooperation with the William Carey Library at Fuller Seminary, has already proven its value during almost ten years of classroom use. Now, significantly revised and refined, it is being made available to a wider market. Dr. LaSor's method is inductive, based directly on the biblical text of Acts. Rather than being asked to master one unit and then another, the student gains his knowledge experientially and gradually from the text itself. The average student will learn to read the New Testament in Greek with understanding; better students will discern subtleties that may elude others in the class; but all will have undergone the same pace. It is one of the significant features of the Handbook that it is able to challenge even brilliant students without forsaking or discouraging less brilliant learners. Among the other advantages of Lasor's approach are these: - By allowing the student to work with the biblical text from the outset, it provides a sense of progress and accomplishment, thus increasing motivation. - It encourages the student to analyze the language, rather than merely to memorize. - It includes basic phonetic rules, providing a system that "regularizes" what other grammars have always treated as irregular verbs requiring memorization. - It does not require the memorization of paradigms. - The Greek words included are numbered in accordance with the system used by the New Englishman's Greek Concordance of the New Testament, enabling the student to locate easily all other uses of the word in the New Testament."
